Will it work on your phone?

Most phones sold since 2018 support eSIM. There is a 30-second way to be sure, and a full model list further down this page.

The 30-second check

*#06#
  1. 1Open the phone dialer — the app you make calls with.
  2. 2Type *#06#. The result appears on its own; no need to press call.
  3. 3A 32-digit EID means your phone supports eSIM. No EID means it does not.

Three things your phone needs

The phone supports eSIM

Dial *#06# — if a 32-digit EID number appears, the hardware is ready.

It is carrier unlocked

Phones tied to a network will refuse a second profile. Your provider can unlock it.

It is not jailbroken or rooted

Modified software blocks eSIM profiles from installing.

Regional exceptions worth knowing

iPhones sold in mainland China have no eSIM hardware, and models bought in Hong Kong or Macao are excluded — except the iPhone 13 mini, 12 mini, SE 2020 and XS. A few Samsung and Pixel models sold in South Korea, Japan and Australia also differ. When in doubt, the *#06# check is the final word.

Check it in your settings instead

If an “Add eSIM” option exists on your phone, it supports eSIM. Here is where to look.

iPhone

Settings › Mobile Service › Add eSIM

On older iOS versions the menu is called Cellular.

Samsung

Settings › Connections › SIM manager › Add eSIM

One UI wording varies a little by model year.

Google Pixel

Settings › Network & internet › SIMs › Download a SIM

Other Android brands follow a similar path.

Common questions

Message support

Not necessarily — the list covers the most common models, not every one. Dial *#06# and look for an EID. If it is there and your phone is unlocked, our eSIM will install.

Check Settings for a carrier lock entry, or ask your provider directly. A locked phone will download the eSIM but refuse to activate it.

Yes. iPhones sold in mainland China do not have eSIM hardware, and models from Hong Kong and Macao are excluded except the iPhone 13 mini, 12 mini, SE 2020 and XS. Some Samsung models from South Korea and Japan also differ.

Cellular iPads and many Windows laptops support eSIM. Data plans work the same way; there is no calling on those devices anyway.

No. Each QR code installs on a single device. For a travel companion, buy a second plan or share your connection over hotspot.

Phone ready? Pick your plan.

Plans from $1.29 for one country, or a single global eSIM for 137. If it will not install, we refund you.
